Today there is no reason that you can't cook like a professional chef in your own kitchen. Don't think though that all of the cookware offered from Emeril, Mario or Rachael is considered professional grade cookware. Professional cookware is a higher grade of cookware that is used in professional restaurant kitchens.

This cookware has been treated with a special electro-chemical process that prevents discoloration, tarnishing or dulling. Demeyere cookware also holds various patents and trademarks on some of their cookware technology. Demeyere also has a line of induction cookware. These pans actually have a system that limits the temperature to 250 degrees Celsius. Viking who are very well known for their line of commercial ranges has introduced a professional cookware set. It is a 7 ply construction which allows for efficient conduction of heat. This cookware is made with an 18/10 stainless steel surface. Viking offers two professional cookware sets. A 6 piece cookware set and a 8 piece gourmet cookware set. All Clad cookware is professional grade cookware. All Clad has several different models of cookware. The All Clad Copper Core Cookware has five ply construction. It has a copper core for maximum and even heat conductivity. All Clad offers there professional cookware sets in 7 piece, 10 piece and 14 piece. These sets run between $900 and $1900. All Clad offers Master-Chef 2 (MC2) cookware. With a brushed aluminum exterior and stainless steel interior which is stick resistant. This professional cookware is much cheaper then the above mentioned sets with a 10 piece set running $600. The Culinary Institute of America now offers the CIA Masters Collection Cookware. This cookware was actually designed by the certified master chefs at the Culinary Institute of America. These professional cookware sets feature pots made of 7-clad construction with a core of copper sandwiched by aluminum. The cooking surfaces are 18/10 brushed stainless steel. the CIA Masters Collection cookware sets come in 10 piece which sells for $950 and 7 piece which sells for $700.
